This is a good article to ponder on. If this study is for the United States alone, I wonder what the world wide statistics are.
My husband's mother had a grandmother that was full blooded indian and she tells me stories of how, in prep for a meal, her grandmother use to go out in the woods to bring home wild plants for healing, spicing foods and eating. I've always wondered just how many wild, non-traditional plant types are available for us now that have fallen off the grid with the advent of dependence on large agri business.
